Feed per stroke on a shaper is comparable to the feed per revolution on a lathe. Coarse feeds for roughing
range up to 0.100´´ per stroke (sometimes abbreviated as IPS), and finish cuts from 0.005´´ to 0.015´´
per stroke. Finish would also depend on the nose radius of the cutting tool. |
